Luke Gakstatter
Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Ag & Turf Division / Deere & Company
Luke Gakstatter is Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, for the Agriculture & Turf Division, a position he has held since February 2024. Luke is responsible for Ag & Turf sales and marketing functions throughout the Americas, Australia, and New Zealand.
Luke joined Deere in 1999 and spent the first decade of his career in the company’s Construction & Forestry division. During that time, he held a number of sales and marketing positions, led dealer development efforts, directed global sales activities, and managed Deere’s joint-venture with Hitachi. He joined the Ag & Turf division in 2009 where he served as director of the company’s China operations. Returning to the U.S. in 2012, Luke served as Vice President, Ag & Turf Sales and Marketing for the U.S. and Canadian markets. Over the next eight years, Luke and his team introduced the next wave of the Dealer of Tomorrow strategy and successfully led initiatives to increase the region’s focus on precision technologies, turf/small tractors, and the aftermarket.
Prior to his current role, Luke served as Senior Vice President, Aftermarket & Customer Support where in early 2020, he led the work to design and assemble the organization currently known as Aftermarket & Customer Support (A&CS). Since then, the A&CS organization has driven significant change across the business to enable lifecycle solutions – the third pillar of our Smart Industrial Strategy – delivering even greater value to John Deere customers.
Luke holds a Bachelor’s degree in marketing from Michigan State University, an MBA from DePaul University, and completed Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business Global Leadership program.
